Aileen Mae (Hughes) Cardinal

Aileen Mae (Hughes) Cardinal, age 74, of Versailles passed away on Wednesday at her home. She was born the daughter of the late Roscoe “Bates” and Francis (Gregory) Hughes on September 16, 1944. Aileen grew up along with her brothers and sisters in the Flat Rock community and attended the Holton School system.
Aileen married Jim Cardinal in March of 1988 and they lived outside of Versailles. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, and watching episodes of Cops. The two of them attended First Southern Baptist Church for several years.
Aileen is survived by husband Jim, sons; Gary (Michelle) Wilson of Brookville, Robert (April) Wilson of Milan, and Neal (Becky) Wilson on Napoleon, step children: Kathy Talkington and Kenny Cardinal, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with brother Nelson Hughes. She was preceded in death by brothers Keith Hughes, Glenn Grundeon, Charlie Grundeon, Cecil Hughes, Billy Grundeon and sisters Edith DeWire and Eileen Zaphe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 16 from 2-4 pm at Neal’s Funeral Home, with funeral services being held at 4 pm., also at the funeral home.
