Edith Marie Smith, age 88 of Napoleon, IN passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at Saxony Hospital in Fishers, Indiana. She was born June 20, 1923 in Roan Mountain, TN to the parents of Carrick & Laura Wilson Johnson.
After graduation , Edith moved to Washington DC where she traveled for the Gabriel Company until her boss was drafted into the service. Edith and a friend then traveled to Indianapolis , IN where she worked for the Real Silk Company. She married Charles Wm. Smith February 19, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1990.

Edith had worked at a Grocery Store in Napoleon, IN from the late 1960's until the late 1980's . She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Napoleon, IN and also a member of the Ladies Red Hatters of Batesville, IN .

She was preceded in death by three sisters; Lucy Whitehead, June Wilson & Irene Shell.
