Eleanor “Jean” (Bowling) Connolly, age 80 passed away on March 24, 2021 in Long Beach, California. She was born on December 19, 1940 to Howard L. and Rubye (Gilliam) Bowling in Ockley, Indiana.
Jean was a graduate of Napoleon High School Class of 1958. She enjoyed being a varsity cheerleader and drum majorette. Upon completion of high school Jean enlisted in the United States Marines and was stationed in Santa Ana, California.
It was in California where she met Lawrence “Larry” J. Connolly. They settled in and raised their family in California. Upon Larry’s death in 1990, Jean remained in California to be close to her children and grandkids.
Jean is survived by daughter Michelle Robin (Scott) Connella, son Michael Gary (Dede) Connolly. Sister Margaret “Anne” Schmidt of Plainfield, Indiana and Brother Kenneth Gil Bowling Sr. of Osgood, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Mary Beth, her parents, and brothers Jimmy Howard and Edwin Terry.
On November 27, 2021 we were able to lay her to rest at Union Flat Rock Cemetery, alongside her brothers Jimmy and Terry. Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
