Faye Marie (Farmer) Belew

Faye Marie (Farmer) Belew, age 77 of Madison, Indiana passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at River Terrace Health Campus. She was born March 22, 1943 on the family farm in Washington Township in southern Ripley County.  She was born the daughter of the late Elbert C. and Allie E. Farmer (Pulley).

Faye enjoyed being with family and friends.  In the summer of 1958, along with friends she went to Wilson’s Skating Rink in Versailles, little did she know that her life would be forever changed.   She met Elvin Belew, and the two of the would hand in hand skate the rest of their lives together.  They won numerous contest in the partner skating event over the years.

They were united in marriage on August 22, 1959 and to this union they were blessed with two daughters Angela and Vikki.

As their family began, Faye would leave her job as a waitress and stay at home. Faye had a soft heart for nurturing animals and loved her pets.  Much to her husband’s surprise one of her favorite pets was her pet King snake.. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting flowers.

Survivors include husband Elvin, daughter Vikki Stenger of Cross Plains, IN., sister Shirley Ward of Indianapolis and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Angela Belew, son-in-law Paul Stenger and sisters Dorothy Mae East and Alberta Myers and brother Albert “Bud” Farmer.
