George Alfred Downey, age 81 of Kenansville, FL , formerly of the Dabney area in Ripley County, IN , passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oakridge, TN . He was born September 21, 1932. His parents were Harry Thomas & Agnes Belle Halberstadt Downey. He married Lillian Wells on April 9, 1992 & she still survives in FL . George was a Korean Army Veteran & a past 32 year employee of GM Fisher Body of Marion, IN where he retired in 1989.

He & his wife attended the Baptist Church in Kenansville
United Auto Workers local # 977 of Marion, IN
He had a passion for gardening & also enjoyed fishing.
Riding his golf cart around the neighborhood was also a favorite past time!
