George Godfrey Vollmer age 88 of Osgood passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at his home near Osgood. He was born March 1, 1922 in Ripley County, Indiana to the parents of: Leland & Flora Comer Vollmer. He married Martha Grace Wilson on May 20, 1944 . She preceded him in death on October 15, 2008.

Robert & Elaine Vollmer of Osgood.
Jerry & Anita Vollmer of Osgood.

Daughters:
Rita & Steve Gookins of Osgood.
Linda & Myron Kanning of Batesville.

Great grandchildren: 10

He was preceded in death by one sister: Mae Marie Schmid.

MEMBERSHIPS:
He had been a farmer all of his life.
He and his wife Martha had ran & operated the Dairy Way near Osgood many years ago.
He had worked for the Federal Government in Crop Insurance retiring in the late 1950's.
He started his own private Insurance business which he ran and operated up to the very end of his life.

He was a member of the Osgood First Baptist Church. He held many offices including: Church Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent , Sunday School teacher and past chairman of the church finance committee.

VISITATION:
Friday/ August 13, 2010/ 4:00-8:00 pm/ Osgood First Baptist Church.

FUNERAL:
Saturday/ August 14, 2010/ 10:00 am/ Osgood First Baptist Church. He will lie in state at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral.

BURIAL: ST. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Napoleon, IN
