Howard Evertt Shafer Jr. age 60 of Osgood, Indiana entered this life on October 3, 1954 in Greensburg, Indiana. He was the son of the late Howard E. and Alice May Margaret Hess Shafer. Howard married Carol Martin Shafer November 24, 1972. Beginning at the age of 14, he began working in the excavation business. He continued doing this all of his life. In 2007 his dream came true, he began his own excavation company. He did contract work for Hoosier Energy Lineman of the Napoleon area. His wife and daughter stated that he was loved by everyone and was always the life of the party! He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends. On Thursday, November 20, 2014, Howard passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Great grandchildren: One girl and three boys.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernie Lee Shafer.
