Joan Foster Koenig

Joan Foster Koenig passed away peacefully in her home on February 16, 2018 in Casa Grande, Arizona. Joan was born on February 15, 1930 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late William and Adria May Creigmile Foster. Adria May, her mother, was born and raised in Osgood, Indiana. Joan received her B.S. from Miami University and a M.A. from Arizona State University.
Joan began her career as a stewardess for American Airlines, Inc. and a market research investigator for Proctor & Gamble Company. Joan became co-owner, vice president, and secretary of Koenig Aviation, Inc. Later in her career, she became a real estate agent and eventual broker.
Joan moved to Casa Grande, Arizona in 1952 and remained there until her passing.
She traveled extensively and made trips to Europe, Mexico, Israel, Yugoslavia, Turkey, and Tahiti.
Joan was very active in her community with clubs and organizations. She was active with the Democratic Women of Arizona, a member of the American Association of University Women, and the Desert Women’s Club.
Joan loved living on the ranch on W. Val Vista Road and lived there for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing bridge with her family and friends. Joan had a deep faith and believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Survivors include sons William (Claudia) Koenig of McLean, Virginia and Theodore (Barbara) Koenig of Jefferson City, Missouri as well as 5 nieces and nephews and their families.
A private graveside service was held for family members on Saturday February 24, 2018 at the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood, Indiana. Pastor Tommy Beatley officiated the ceremony from the United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were handled by Neal's Funeral Home.
