Melvin Custer Myers age ,89 died at his home surrounded by his family. A devoted family man he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eileen, in 2008. He is survived by his three children, Julie Thornburg (Thomas), Linda Haskins (Stephen) and Charley Myers (Jennifer). Also surviving are his six children, Brad and Marjorie Hersman, Patrick Thornburg, and Ian, Colin, and Aidan Myers. Myers served as 1st Lieutenant in 'A" Battery of the 67th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Armored Division in WW II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
A visitation and funeral was held at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel in Indianapolis. A visitation and funeral will also be held Monday, November 1, 2010 from 10:00am - 11:00 am at the Osgood First Baptist Church, Osgood, IN . Funeral will immediately follow at 11:00 am . Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
