Roger Furlow, age 74 of Osgood, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Decatur County Hospital surrounded by his family. Roger was born in Greensburg on March 19, 1943, the son of the late Lester and Mable (Adams) Furlow.
Roger grew up in the Holton Community and attended Holton and New Marion Schools. He entered the work force at a young age and was a dedicated employee. He spent 28 years working at the US Shoe Factory in Osgood. In the later years of working at the Shoe Factory, he began as a part time employee at Neal’s Funeral Home and became full time for nearly 25 years. He had a personality that could easily make you smile, and a heart that was willing to help in any way he could.
Roger enjoyed his family and teaching them to respect people and always to be fair and honest. His greatest pastimes were fishing whenever time allowed and just enjoying nature.
Roger is survived by wife Linda of Osgood; son Sean (Stephanie) Furlow of Versailles; step-children Brian of Seymour; Scott and Amber both of Osgood; and grandchildren Charlie, Madeleine, Michael, Bridgett, and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his parents and also son Keith.
Visitation will be from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, May 24 at Neal’s Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 6:00 pm. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Napoleon. Memorials may be made out to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
