Roy Allen Dunaway

Roy Allen Dunaway, 72 of New Whiteland and formerly of Osgood passed away at 5:58 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Community Hospital South of Greenwood.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 10 AM at Neal's Funeral of Osgood. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday and from 9 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with Military Graveside Honors being provided by the Osgood American Legion post.

Born December 18, 1935 in Carlisle, KY, he was the son of the late Leroy and Gladys Mae Williams Dunaway. He married Joan Abplanalp on August 3, 1957 after returing home from serving in the United States Army. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2008.

Roy had been a truck driver with Southside Ready Mix of Southport until he retired after 35 years of employment in 1995. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Union 716 of Indianapolis/South Meridian. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bird hunting.

Mr. Dunaway is survived by a daughter, Donna & Brian Borer of Greenwood, a brother, Donald Dunaway of Shelbyville, two sisters, Barbara Dilk of Osgood and Charlene Abrams of Napoleon, and two grandchildren, Brittany and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Jake and Robert Dunaway, a sister Mildred Wonn, and a cousin Curtis Dunaway.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Disabled American Veterans.
