Pastor Russell F. Stephens was born to Ray Stephens and Lettie Salyers on June 2, 1934 and left this earthly plane on October 19, 2011 being welcomed by our Lord and Savior and his loved ones who have gone before him. Russell was born in Kentucky and moved as a child to southeastern Indiana where he attended high school in Napoleon, IN . Russell would frequently talk about playing against the mighty basketbaall team from Milan that won the state championship finals in 1954.
Russell married his high school sweetheart, Madge Huey who survives, in 1954 and was blessed to be married 57 years. He is survived by his daughter Paula Stephens-Bibeau, his son, Pastor David Stephens, daughter in law, Joanie Stephens, 5 grand children, 11 great grand children, 2 brothers, 1 sister and their spouses as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ.

He worked both the land and for the souls of many men and women for Christ. He was actively involved in the Emmaus. Golf had become his joy and frustration with his last game Monday, the 10th, being one of his best. He was a member of the Osgood Masonic Lodge and was an active 32 degree Mason and a member of the Osgood Lion's Club. A humble and kind man, he made sure those around him were cared and provided for without question.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 21, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Osgood First Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 pm also at the Osgood First Baptist Church . Burial will be at Greendale Cemetery near Osgood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child or a chairty of your choice. The family would like to thank all those who provided health care, emotional support and loving prayers during this unexpected time of change in our lives.
