Shirley Ellen Summers age 85 of Osgood, Indiana was born October 14, 1929 in Osgood. Her parents were the late Clarence B. & Olive Z. VanVolkenburg Schmaltz. Shirley graduated from Holton High School & was a lifetime member of Hopewell Baptist Church near Holton. She was a past member of the ladies Hopewell missionary & the Osgood Beautification Committee. She had last worked as a unit coordinator for Decatur County Hospital of Greensburg, Indiana.
Shirley's children said she had been a wonderful mother & was known for her good cooking especially her homemade breads & sweet rolls. She loved doing crafts, especially cross stitching, playing cards & also enjoyed doing gardening. Shirley's family & grandchildren were her greatest love in her life! She passed away, Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She will be sadly missed by her family & friends.
