William John Borchelt

William John Borchelt age 83 of Osgood, IN died at St Andrews of Batesville, IN on May 11, 2009. He was born October 20, 1925 at Batesville, IN to the parents of Walter & Mae Ruleman Borchelt.He married Mary Alice Grieshop on December 28, 1949 at Morris, IN and she preceded him in death on December 22, 1994.

Survivors include:
Son: Wayne and wife Peggy Borchelt of Osgood.

Daughter: Dawn & husband David corney of Austin, TX .

Brothers: Alvin Borchelt of Indianapolis, IN and Daniel Borchelt of Sunman, IN .

Sisters: Betty Koester of Batesville, IN and Lucille Williams of Lake Mills, Iowa.

William was preceded in death by daughter Cynthia Spurgeon on July 4, 1990.

Had attended St. Peter's UN Church of Christ "Finks" of Osgood.

WW II Navy Veteran

Had owned and operated a Texaco Distribution Business in Osgood from 1965-1985.

Had been very active in working with and supporting the Osgood Boy Scout Troop # 638 for many years.
Member of the Osgood Masonic Lodge # 603.
Member of Wm. A. Gilland Am Legion Post # 267 of Osgood.
Member of the Keen-Henneke VFW Post # 9987.
Member of the 40/8 Ripley County Voiture 1047. He had worked many years in raising money for the nurses scholarships.

Had been involved in the creation and working with the Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame.
