Neal's Funeral Home History

Neal’s Funeral Home has a rich history spanning over a century. Its story began in the mid-1920s when Ray Williams founded the business on the site of a former creamery owned by Gotlib Herman, which had burned down. Williams, along with his partner, operated the establishment as Williams & Brown Funeral Home.

In 1928, Everett and Mary Black acquired the business, renaming it Black Funeral Home. They managed it until 1947, after which James and Elva Laws purchased the funeral home in 1948. The couple renamed it Laws & Laws Funeral Home. Two years later, in 1950, James and Peggy Fallis became the new owners, and by January 1957, the establishment was listed under the name Fallis Funeral Home.

In 1977, Dennis Nead joined the staff, prompting a name change to Fallis & Nead Funeral Home. Four years later, in 1981, Dennis Nead’s son-in-law joined the business, and the name was updated to Fallis & Nead & Clark Funeral Home. By 1982, James Fallis’s name was removed, and the funeral home became known as Nead & Clark Funeral Home.

On December 31, 1987, Bill and Lila Neal purchased the business, and in 1994, they rebranded it as Neal’s Funeral Home. Continuing the family legacy, their son, Travis Neal, completed his mortuary studies and joined as a licensed funeral director in 2012.

Today, Neal’s Funeral Home stands as a testament to its enduring commitment to serving the community with care and compassion.
